6th day CNY - Tiring, Fun, Happy.... @ SS2 PJ

As usual.. I will have a small gathering with my family @ my place during d CNY weekend......
Coz every year I will b back to KL on d 2nd day n my sis will b back to Ipoh on d same day...
1 to KL and the other to Ipoh....
We have come out a solution - to have a gathering at my place during the CNY weekend .. (no matter which CNY day)....

This year I did not invite my friends, relatives, colleagues to come over my place...
Coz last year the crowd was kinda huge .. n everyone was busy entertain n taking care of d guest..
So we try to make it simple.. just my parents & my sis's family....
More to a family reunion gathering.... so that we got some time to catch up .....

Mum came over earlier on d 5th day..
she help me prepare all the stuff for the dinner .. normally we will have BBQ  dinner at our place...
Coz my sis got 3 kids and they love to BBQ .. so at least the kids can enjoy themself ....playing with the fire n cook as well..

9.00 am - PJ SS2 market
I went to the market with my mum to get :-
pork, chicken, fish, prawns, vegetables.....

10.00 am - PJ Oldtown market (just to get LALA)
Big disappointment - no LALA ....... cannot make steam Lala with garlic
(cook it by wrapping aluminum foil)..
Aihhhhh .. it is all time fav....

10.30 am - Kuan Yin temple
for prayers

11.30 am - prepare the dish...

12.30pm - $&^&^#(*  - power failure, no electricity .....
Big complaint to TNB .. Last year d power failure also....
They informed that they will fix it in 2 hours time.....
n they better fix it or else ......

1.00pm~4.30pm (1 U JJ)
Well instead of this I got the premium LALA .. OYSTER .. (price RM6.80/pc @JJ 1 U)..
I never buy live oyster b4 ..

Luckily d worker help me to open it..
                                                                 Fat n juicy oyster...

reached home at 4.45pm n the electricity is back to normal...
GOOD WORK TNB but d electricity rate still high......

4..45~6.00pm
Prepare d food...
My wife prepare it .. she accidentally pook her finger with d stick.. Poor thing...

Yakitori - with onions n pepper (traffic light colour)

D Fish..... with no bones ..

6.00pm - start the fire
                                                                              Fire....

6.30pm - All family members arrived.......
Start FEASTING...

My Lil Sous Chef.... more to help me to turn the yakitori around

Yakitori + Prawns + Vege Wrap

Dish :-
1) Toriyaki.. (First time we make this one .. idea frm Jyu Raku)
D BBQ sauce for the Yakitori - GOOD ..

2) Oyster mayonaisse (1st time also .... well another Jyu Raku idea contribution)
Oyster with Mayonnaise + Cheese... Yummy (d BOMB)

3) BBQ vege (wrap it with aluminum foil)......
4) BBQ slice fish
5) Bacon
6) Sausage
7) BBQ chicken drumstick
8) BBQ pork chop
9) BBQ prawns..
10) BBQ sotong

............. MY SPECIAL DISH 4 TONIGHT ..........

9) BBQ SPARE PORK RIBS...... (idea frm Chicago 1 U)
OMG .. it was superb ... I never had so juicy spare ribs b4... ahem.. ahem ...
(it will b perfect if the flavor/sauce could enter inside the meat..... need to figure it out for next time...)
I did a slow roast in the oven ..for 3 hours ..
finally BBQ about 15 mins to make it perfectly..
Yummy yummy ....

10) Dessert - Lychee n Rambutan w/ pineapple (something sweet after d heavy meals)
Nice nice nice

Of course a lot of drinking - wines n beers..
Everyone was drunk that day... Father, mother, sis n myself ...
still sober .. the kids, Bro-In law (d driver)

9.30pm - cleaning up the BBQ place

10.00pm - GAMBLING session...
well every year my parents will contribute some $$ to their grandchildren ....
However this year .... yours truly is the big contribution .. LOL...

12.00am ...... time to say goodbye...
Exhausted n Happy ...
Goodtime with family members ... Priceless....

    1. Isaac Tan - Same here.. i got a bit pull back when wanted to buy the oyster .. afraid that it might not fresh n so on..
I just add some mayonnaise + cheese inside .. well all the people love it....
My dad just take it raw and he says that it is fresh...
So anything must have its first time ....
In d worst case i might do "fried o chien..."
