Fresh from the oven...

Both me and wife love to eat muffin......
Normally we will get our muffin from the bakery.
Last weekend my wife decided to make our own muffin..
As usual she checked some of the cooking blogs for the recipe.....
This is her first time making the muffin and she was kinda nervous on it..
She afraid that the muffin might turn out not nice.....

Some of the ingredients

Filling up.....

Baking in progress...

 Fui Fui's raisin muffin....
It is so delicious .. moisture and soft inside..

I still have left over 2 burger patties.....
A Sunday brunch - Burger & Raisin Muffin...

She was so proud of her raisin muffin and we immediately deliver some fresh muffin to my MIL...
My wife would like to thanks Sonia , Yan & Yvonne for the simple & easy recipe....

I had a wonderful Sunday.. eating some some muffin while enjoy the Olympic games........

Sukiya @ Paradigm Mall

That day my wife purchase a groupon for Buffet lunch at Sukiya....

I think it was RM20/person .. (coz it was a treat from fui fui)...
Normal price is RM29.80 ++ /person...

I read a lot of review about Sukiya and this is my first time to go there....
It is a japanese steamboat... and I had sukiyaki before in a japanese restaurant....

If you are the first time make sure you read the instruction guide on it.....
This menu show you how to make some dipping sauce & etc..

For Sukiyaki we use raw egg as a sauce.. (ahem ahem ahem)
Just for the safe side I just cook the egg a bit..
I think some ppl do not know about this...
I saw the person on the next table is using the sesame dressing...
which is good also..

Food in the buffet counter..
not much choices....
but all the ingredients are very fresh and good quality
Fresh meat - slice thin mutton & chicken..
Beef is available but we don't take beef...

My fish ball & lala udon..
yummy...
You could request a steam rice to cook it in the soup .. like porridge style..
it is how sukiyaki works... I think some people are not aware on this..
but we were very full and skip this..
My review about Sukiya..
1) They offer fresh vegetables & meat
2) But the varieties is limited, they do not offer prawns & fish (only la la)
The lala is very fresh and no sand in it.....
3) I feel that the price is quite expensive compare to Shabu Shabu ..
but the quality of food is good..
The only difference between lunch and dinner is the additional sushi...
4) The ice cream is soft and nice..

It is a very nice experience....

Banana Republic vs Guys Vision

Nowadays I seldom buy clothes....
Last time I will buy maybe 1 or 2 pcs of working shirt/year...
but now my company is giving out company uniform.. Good and Bad...
Good - No need to spend money for working attire......
Bad - The design and the colour wasn't so interesting..
Last month I went back to Ipoh to celebrate my mum's birthday..
After the dinner we went to the new Ipoh JJ.
Both my parents have not been there yet... so I just brought them there and look around..
I got these......
Banana Republic Polo T.......
It only cost me RM80/2 pcs..
actually I am a L size person but it looks nice if it tight fit so I bought M size instead...

During the last Chinese New Year, I got a few Guy Vision T-shirts and shorts..
It cost abt RM9/pc (with 10% discount)...
I got 4 T-shirts and 4 shorts...
Now I have use it for half a year and the quality is still good ..
the collar of the T shirt still have not wear off yet
and the elasticty of the rubber band on the shorts still good.......

Customer Comes First .. Really ?

"ROTTEN" customer was on the Star newspaper front page the other day
Nowadays they are a lot of irresponsible customers that like to poke on the fruits, open the box and check the food whether is good or not, change the price tag & etc etc...

Yesterday morning I was listening to 988 radio channel..and there is a discussion on this matter...
If we want to test it we have to purchase the product first before testing/open the packaging...
We can do the testing but provided the testing was done by the sales personnel (third party)...
Sounds reasonable...

In my opinion it is OK to have a minor check on the products before we purchase them...
(eg. check on the eggs whether it got crack or not, fruits whether it is fresh, smell the body shampoo whether the fragrance is nice or not & etc.......)

Some of the manufacturer say that the product is already certify ISO standard and quality is already approve.
Why we(consumer) still need to check the products?
Consumer should be satisfied and ensure the safety & quality of the product.
hmm I guess the manufacturer has a point...

But this happen to me on last Sunday.
I purchased 2 cartons of Dutch Lady Milk at Tesco, Paridigm Malland
The milk turn sour......
The expiry date is next year 2013 and it is already gone bad...
Furthermore it was having a promotion RM13.90 for 2 cartons (1 carton = 6 pcs)
Normal price is RM16.00 for 2 cartons
Is it another way on selling those bad products to customer?

Well I am agree that they could have a promotion price to reduce the stock when it is near expiring date.
But a promotion price to sell those ROTTEN Products? Damn.....

I was very upset on this matter... as the rotten food could cause food poisoning....
My wife felt some stomach discomfort after drinking the first 2 slips...
Besides that Dutch Lady is a very well reputable brand and how could this rotten food be leaked out from their quality inspection?

Now I have to drive all the way back to the Mall, lodge a complaint, then get my refund back....
Furthermore I need to pay for the carpark fees & sacrifice my time to go there...
Who shall pay that? It is me the "consumer"...
So as a consumer we need to be very cautions and check the things first before we purchase it......
Besides that if you buy something please make sure you take those products that were further behind.
Coz those front products are those that were going to expire soon....

Eat n Eat n Eat in Malacca - non halal

This is my last post of Malacca trip.....
I was fully recharge after a good rest in the Hotel (ahem ahem ahem)... kakakakaka..

It was a bright sunny Sunday morning...
The day mission is to Jalan Jalan Cari Makan (walk around and look for food).....

Actually if you visit Malacca the thing that you must eat is their :-
1) Chicken Rice Ball ( I would suggest Chung Wah but please prepare some umbrella coz it will line up until outside of the shops)
2) Satay Celup......
3) Malacca Cendol

Ppl all queue up for the chicken rice (Chung Wah) and cendol (Jonker 88)
Money printing shopp

Well this time me and wife would like to try something difference..
we skip the Malacca top 2 food must eat...
Try something that you don't really often heard about it in Malacca
Which were actually quite popular among those Malacca ppl....
First Stop....

Lung Ann restaurant..... (near jonker Street)

As usual all Malacca resturant is crowded with people...
1) Shredded Duck meat noodles (taste like a normal dry noodles)
Has a strong taste of 5 spices.. It is average only...
2) Homemake Fish Balls.. very nice and it is very soft
No springy taste .. which is good that they did not add in the chemical to make it springy
3) Slice Fish meat Bihun... The fish meat is fresh and nice.
Not much ajinomoto in the soup...
It cost about RM7/bowl .. it is really expensive ..
taste is just average and very home style taste...

Of course I need to rejuvenate .. after a tiring day (ahem ahem ahem)....
I took 2 half boil eggs -- yummy

2nd Stop............

Kedai Satay Xiang Ji..

This shop is famous of their Pork Satay..
Their sauce is a bit difference from the Kajang Satay..
I heard that they add in the the pineapple in their sauce and it has less peanuts..
The Pork meat is very thin and the meat fully marinate and it is very nice..
Then I tried the intestine satay... but kinda disappointed...
It wasn't as good as the intestine satay that I eat in Ipoh...
It is just average rating for me.......
Price is reasonable - RM0.70/pc

Then 3rd Stop....

60 East & West Rendezvous..
This shop is famous of their Nyonya Bazhang .. and their cendol..
I don't like the cendol at all (ice is too rough and less gula Melaka)
I wanted to eat the Jonker 88 but the queue was terrible...
Then 4th stop.... Malacca BKT...

Restoran Kok Keong.....

Actually my wife was looking forward for this shop..
coz she wanted to try their famous yam rice...
Taste is average only....
Good thing.. they have a lot of sets combination..
(eg. lean meat + tauhu + intestines, fat meat + tauhu + intestines & etc etc)
5th Stop ......

Nadeje for their mille crepe....

The famous mille crepe..
We tried the original and rum & raisin
This is the first time we eat mille crepe...
Not bad ... I can't compare as this is our first time..
The girl inform that mango mille crepe is nice..
We enjoy it..

6th Stop.....

The most famous Malacca popiah at Jalan Bunga Raya
Things that I could say about this popiah are :-
PORK LARK & Crispy Fried Pork Fat
Price is so expensive RM3/pc
I could get a better popiah in Klang and it only cost RM1.80 if I am not mistaken..

Final 7th Stop.. at last.....

Restoran Sin Yit Sing @ Seremban...

1) Coconut Herbal Chicken = Very Good
2) Pork stomach stir fry with dried shrimp + cili padi = Very Good
3) Fried prawn mantis with salted egg = Good
4) Seremban Grill Crab = Good
Price is slightly expensive for Seremban standard ...

Malacca the Historical City..

After a quick refreshing in the Hotel, we walk to Jonker Street.....
It was so crowded with tourist (local & foreign).....
Malacca is really turn into a tourist center place......
It was Sat and they open up all the stalls along the Jonker Street......

First stop .... some good makan place...
We saw some chicken rice ball shop.... gee now they open till night..

Then I saw this..
Stinky tauhu.. damn it was so stinky..
I think it is 10x stinky than petai.. lol

We saw the famous Jonker 88 and it was crowded with people.. line up for their cendol.. aihhh...
Decided to skip it .. when it is our turn we will be starving..
so we just walk straight and hunt for FOOD...

we found this ... just to get some stuff to fill in our empty stomach.
coz we didn't eat after the Seremban meal.....

Fish ball noodles.. it is really awful..
this cost me RM5.00.. damn expensive..
the noodles was not 100% cook..

Then we went out from Jonker Street ....
and we found this restaurant....

Sin Yin Hoe...

My wife told me that this shop is famous of their fried oyster...
I feel that it is so so only.. the oyster is very small..
then we order the Oyster mee and Kwai Fah noodles..
Overall I could say that the kwai Fah noodles is not bad..
the fried oyster and the oyster mee is a bit disapointing.....
As you know after the meal .. it is time to SLEEP.. kakaka..
we thought of going for Boar Ride .. but couldn't find it ..
Instead we found the BOAT ride.. kakakakakaka

Boat ride... and there are lots of ppl line up for it..

After that we call for the day.. as I was very tired .. drving the whole entire day....
Go back to the hotel to sleep (ahem ahem ahem...)
My last visit to Malacca was 2 years ago.. and this place has change a lot..

1) We tried the boat ride and it was really good.. (go for the night ride - cool and the night scenery is nice)
2) There are many pubs along the Malacca river.. (but I don't see many people hang out there)
3) Many guest house/domitory/hostel were established for the tourist...
4) Many colourful trishaw equip with mini hi fi... I wanted to try buy my wife doesn't want

The Explorer Hotel, Malacca

After getting all the great and delicious from Seremban I headed down south to JB...
My wife got an appointment with her friends at Plaza Inn...
I was getting tired coz of eating too much of food...
The best thing to do after a meal is to SLEEP...
After 30 mins of chating with my wife .. suddenly I heard a snoring .....and it became LouDER and LOUDER.. lol..
I just listen to the "L"ADIO instead...
it was raining quite heavily when we reached the border of Johor..
After 3 hours drive we finally arrive JB...

My wife met her friends and then we off to Malacca..
We reached Malacca at 7.30pm.. and went straight to the hotel....

It wasn't so difficult to locate the hotel as it was just opposite the Mahkota Pahlawan...
As I was informed that the Hotel is very new (just 2 weeks in operation)...
I am very impressed about the Hotel.....

The price list of the room....

The lobby..

Recreation area ...

The room...

My opinions about the Hotel:-
1)  The room is very clean but the floor is slightly dirty (it is a wooden floor not carpet)
They do not provide you a slipper
2) The bathroom is nice and compact with modern design.
Water pressure from the water pump is strong and hot water is available instantly...
3) Staff is friendly and helpful
4) Bed is stable .. no rocking noise.. ahem ahem... pillow is floffy (cause it is new)
Bedsheets and towel is clean (I bring my own towel)
5) TV channel is blur ..only available normal channel
6) There is a children play area....
7) Coffee vending machine is available
8) Walking distance to Jonker St, Mahkota Pahlawan, Hatten Square (Overtime pub is there)
9) Plenty of car parks ..It is located together with some shops lots..
It might be full if all the shops are open for business...
10) Value for money.. (they give you McD RM5 voucher/person for breakfast)..
McD is just across the road
11) The room's sound absorption is not good .. could hear the next room talking..
so you need to keep your noise level low (ahem ahem ahem.....)

You could try out this hotel ....
But what worried me is the maintenance of the Hotel ..
hope that they will maintain it and I shall come back and try next time.....
