My daily yummy? Oats breakfast.......

I think it was few years back since my last medical check....Tat time.... My good n bad cholesterol was way too high.....
Then I start to reduce those fatty meat, seafood, fried stuff n so on....
But it just lasted for few mths.....
I foreseen now my cholesterol level is shooting up due to my eating behavior...
Lots of seafood, fatty meat - bak kut teh, siu yuk, tong poh yuk, fast food, n other not so healthy stufff......

After d cny I had been reducing a lot of these sinfully food.....
Every morning I start to eats oats....
I got this from of my dad's friend, which is now about 70 years old...
He is very healthy n full of energy...
He advise me to eat healthy n do lots of exercise.......
2 tablespoon of oats....it must b those cook oats.. Not instant
You could add more if u want...Put in a normal bowl......

Fill it up with normal drinking water.....Leave it overnight.....

Ready to drink ......




Drink it before you go to 4 work/school.....

  2. It is kinda tasteless la! You soaked overnight somemore. I usually put in hot water and a little bit of condensed milk for better taste.

  3. huhuhu....I really hate oats. (that's why its really difficult for me to keep fit) =p.
    If really need to have one...I'll add some fruits in it.

  6. Do you add hot water in the oat the next morning? Or you have it coldly?

    I prefer mine warm, but I don't take it every day, will get jelak :p I must start my oat regime soon, not only can lower my cholesterol level, but good for slimming too!

      well i think tasteless is better than eat medicine to control my cholesterol..

  9. My mum also leaves it overnight..but I drink it with warm water each morning.. good for cutting down the "fats?" :)

  15. Funny how we are often enjoying ourselves and telling ourselves that life's short, and then one medical check up and the report sets us back almost immediately to look at the reality!
    Eating healthy should be made a habit, but for it to stick, you will need to incorporate it gradually into your diet before it totally replaces everything. You can still enjoy what you eat, but in smaller doses and then you introduce these healthy food with lots of fibre slowly. Once you start to get used to it, that's where you replaced one sinful dish with one healthy food. Make sure you allow yourselves a treat once in a while, and you will find your new diet usually stays ;)

  16. I love oats! I like to cook them though - put 1/3 cup of oats and 1 cup of water in the saucepan, simmer for a few minutes, add a splash of milk and a dash of brown sugar - yum. Sometimes I like to cook them with banana or grated apples, almonds and raisins too. :-)

    1. i read it somewhere that a lazy (like me) solution for not to cook oats is to soak it overnight...
      then the next morning .. ta dah .. ready to eat n drink..
