14th Day - Crawling to Cameron ......

14th day .... today is d 2nd last of CNY...
Yesterday my MIL suggested to go to Cameron Highlands.. say that it is kinda hot n want to chill out @ Cameron...
Immediately I say Sorry No Thank You... I know that during d holiday seasons .. it will b very bad traffic @ cameron ...... I rather stay @ home to watch TV ..
My wife gave me 2 choices to choose...
1) go to Cameron
2) go to Cameron ....... so which choice do you think I chose? LOL

Well at least I don't have to drive .. my BIL will b driving.......
Besides that they have not book the hotel yet ... cham cham cham ...... they said that they will search 4 d hotel when arrive @ cameron.....
Can u believe that .. first go to Cameron during d peak season n secondly didn't make any hotel reservation....
I cannot imagine what will b d worst scenario....

We start our journey @11.00am..... stop by Key Way Dim Sum restaurant, PJ Seapark.
Previously d dim sum is very nice .. but not now....
We just got something so that we could continue our journey to Cameroon....
(kinda excited but a bit sien when think about the traffic)

D crowd getting lesser .. poor quality of dim sum....

Varieties of Dim Sum & Paus....

D car is thirsty......

My Cup ...... (my wife do some skethes on it....)

Reach Cameron highway @ 2.00pm

Nightmare started - bumper to bumper .... sien...

Wild Banana ... care for a free banana while stuck in d jam?

Food everywhere .. this guy is harvesting some free "Dragon Leaves"

D best sweet corn... (near d butterfly farm).. we bought d corn n hop back 2 d  car..
The traffic was really bad........
Finally arrived Brinchang @ 4.00pm

2nd nightmare .. hotel searching....
All hotels are fully book or either d room condition was really bad...
cannot find a good decent hotel .. decided to go back to KL @ night....
Aihhhhhhh......

Steamboat restaurant.. time to makan ... yeah ....

d tower of beer .. LOL ..  we r having d charcoal steamboat...

Steamboat for 2 person .. RM35 (expensive)....

Fried mushroom.... (i think those tepi jalan is better)

Singapore fried bi hun .. (taste is acceptable..)

Steamboat .....

Many food pictures .. but please don't kena tipu by them...(LOL)

There are many steamboat restaurant.. just go to those that are many ppl..
Price n quality is more or less d same...

D chrysanthemum .. so big n nice.. can't find it at KL..

Next stop - pasar malam brinchang...

Strawberry stick..

Fried vege n sweet potatoes ball...

Cowboy cooking kuew teow kerang goreng

Big wok of malay economy fried noodles n kuew teow..

Ayam goreng panas...

Lots of Ayam Panggang...

Who say Organic vege is expensive...

Ouch .. hot n spicy cameron jalapeno...

Sweet pearl cameron corns...

 Big lobak putih.....

Fresh wild honey.... very sweet...

Honey they shrunk the carrot ...

Sea of Cactus.... not good for feng shui...

After d pasar malam .. it is already 8.00pm .. so we called it a day...
We don't have the chance to visit Strawberry farm, butterfly farm, rose valley, boh plantation .....
On d way back, we saw all d cars are stuck n crawling up (to Brinchang).. n it is not moving at all..
I guess that they will reached Brinchang by midnight... (pity them ....)

We thought of going to Ipoh for DINPER .. Dinner + Supper...
They would want to eat Tauge Chicken Keow Teow...
We reached Ipoh @ 10.00pm and there is only shop (Low Wong) that is still open..
Onn Kee had finished selling their chickens... n close shop.

Lou Wong .. Nga Choy Kai...

Pork Balls .. to salty....(everyone was so hungry n fighting for BALLs)

Sesame oil n soya sauce bentong beanstrout... (sesame oil not enough - not fragrant)

Hor Fun wih hot water (no taste at all)

Fat Chicken .. again the sesame oil is not enuff.....

We finished our makan @10.30pm and head back to KL .... reached Kl at 12.45am ..
Super tired......

Morale of d story...
1) Don't ever travel during long holidays ... (better stay @ home)......

Anyway .. it is nice n I enjoy spending time with my fei mah (MIL), BIL, BIL's wife n of course my lovely wife ......

    1. yup.. should b so thankful ..
Didn't manage to find red roses....
They came out some type of fresh roses that could last for 2 years
(the put some chemical to it).
I am afraid that the chemical is harmful so didn't buy it..

  6. A very eventful day for you before the CNY was officially over. It is true that we must remember to avoid travelling on public holidays. I would rather chill and relax at home like you said.

  7. Whenever I travel to CH...I prefer stay at Tanah Rata less crowd and easy to walk around even during festive season. Brinchang to pack because everybody wants to go pasar malam. Actually in Tanah Rata there a plenty apartment to rent with reasonable price and you need to book in advance. Anyway how is the cowboy kuew teow taste is it nice ?

  13. Hah!!! The celebrated Lou Wong! I've known all this while it isn't all that nice...from the look in the photos. Loved the steamboat at Cameron. You did not go for the strawberry desserts? Yummmmm!!! Would love to go again. The kodok too (sweet potato balls). The corn's just so-so, nothing great.
