Ba Zhang Festival ... not so soon

Nope.... dumpling festival is not aroung the corner..
These Ba Chang is for the Ching Ming festival...

My MIL make some Ba Chang for the prayers....

When she make Ba Chang .. I always pre-order 10~20 pcs..
if not surely not enough ..... coz a lot of my relatives also ask a lot from her..
I always love the Ba Chang that she made..
It is very nice and she put lots of ingredients inside.....

salty egg yolk

Mushroom, Pork Belly, Chest Nut & Dried Oyster...

Beanss..

Glutinuous rice....

Lotus leaves..

Lots of Ba Zhang .. .. yeah..

Yummy yummy yummy.. I could go for 3 pcs at one time...

    1. small tip .. ask ur mum to soak it with water for awhile..
      so that it be softer .. if not it will be kinda hard...

  5. wow, she's VERY generous with the ingredients she stuffs inside! there's more meat and more scallops compared to rice. my favorite ingredients would actually be the salted egg yolk and the chestnuts :D

      So if she make the Ba Zhang, she will puts lots of ingredients...

  10. Waa...got dried scallop summore. So, laku..must be very nice..Nowadays outside selling Bak Zhang are so expensive. And what you get are usually 1 big piece of 'Fei G yuk'. =p

      then they put lots of chemical to preserve it..
      I think there is one year that they found the chemical contents is too high..

  11. My mother is also good in making bak chang :) Home made bak chang is definitely the best compares to commercialize ones.

    I'm planning to take a day off to learn bak-chang-making skill from her, hehehe....

    You take 3 bak chang at one go?! Now I know where you get your 6-in-1 abs :p

  12. My MIL also makes bak chang during Ching Ming festival. She is selling it too. But then, Son in Law also still needs to pre-order one ah? I thought she will reserve some for you.

      I always order like 20~30 .. kekeke..
      but I always get 10~15 pcs only ..
      very laku not enough.....
