Eat n Eat n Eat in Malacca - non halal

This is my last post of Malacca trip.....
I was fully recharge after a good rest in the Hotel (ahem ahem ahem)... kakakakaka..

It was a bright sunny Sunday morning...
The day mission is to Jalan Jalan Cari Makan (walk around and look for food).....

Actually if you visit Malacca the thing that you must eat is their :-
1) Chicken Rice Ball ( I would suggest Chung Wah but please prepare some umbrella coz it will line up until outside of the shops)
2) Satay Celup......
3) Malacca Cendol

Ppl all queue up for the chicken rice (Chung Wah) and cendol (Jonker 88)
Money printing shopp

Well this time me and wife would like to try something difference..
we skip the Malacca top 2 food must eat...
Try something that you don't really often heard about it in Malacca
Which were actually quite popular among those Malacca ppl....
First Stop....

Lung Ann restaurant..... (near jonker Street)

As usual all Malacca resturant is crowded with people...
1) Shredded Duck meat noodles (taste like a normal dry noodles)
Has a strong taste of 5 spices.. It is average only...
2) Homemake Fish Balls.. very nice and it is very soft
No springy taste .. which is good that they did not add in the chemical to make it springy
3) Slice Fish meat Bihun... The fish meat is fresh and nice.
Not much ajinomoto in the soup...
It cost about RM7/bowl .. it is really expensive ..
taste is just average and very home style taste...

Of course I need to rejuvenate .. after a tiring day (ahem ahem ahem)....
I took 2 half boil eggs -- yummy

2nd Stop............

Kedai Satay Xiang Ji..

This shop is famous of their Pork Satay..
Their sauce is a bit difference from the Kajang Satay..
I heard that they add in the the pineapple in their sauce and it has less peanuts..
The Pork meat is very thin and the meat fully marinate and it is very nice..
Then I tried the intestine satay... but kinda disappointed...
It wasn't as good as the intestine satay that I eat in Ipoh...
It is just average rating for me.......
Price is reasonable - RM0.70/pc

Then 3rd Stop....

60 East & West Rendezvous..
This shop is famous of their Nyonya Bazhang .. and their cendol..
I don't like the cendol at all (ice is too rough and less gula Melaka)
I wanted to eat the Jonker 88 but the queue was terrible...
Then 4th stop.... Malacca BKT...

Restoran Kok Keong.....

Actually my wife was looking forward for this shop..
coz she wanted to try their famous yam rice...
Taste is average only....
Good thing.. they have a lot of sets combination..
(eg. lean meat + tauhu + intestines, fat meat + tauhu + intestines & etc etc)
5th Stop ......

Nadeje for their mille crepe....

The famous mille crepe..
We tried the original and rum & raisin
This is the first time we eat mille crepe...
Not bad ... I can't compare as this is our first time..
The girl inform that mango mille crepe is nice..
We enjoy it..

6th Stop.....

The most famous Malacca popiah at Jalan Bunga Raya
Things that I could say about this popiah are :-
PORK LARK & Crispy Fried Pork Fat
Price is so expensive RM3/pc
I could get a better popiah in Klang and it only cost RM1.80 if I am not mistaken..

Final 7th Stop.. at last.....

Restoran Sin Yit Sing @ Seremban...

1) Coconut Herbal Chicken = Very Good
2) Pork stomach stir fry with dried shrimp + cili padi = Very Good
3) Fried prawn mantis with salted egg = Good
4) Seremban Grill Crab = Good
Price is slightly expensive for Seremban standard ...

I see the cili sauce is something similar to our lok-lok sauce (Taiping satay celup) here.

  11. Nowadays fish slice beehoon soup is getting expensive, not only in Malacca but in our humble town here too! It's selling at RM7, crazy hawkers and inflation!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Popiah is RM3??!! Overrated, I must say. Everyone is going to Malacca for holidays hence caused the prices to shoot up high.

Just like in my town here, when everybody from outstation comes back during CNY, they keep praising the food in Taiping is cheap and cheap. After they left, the hawkers decided to increase their price and here we are, stuck with pricey food :(

      Delete
    2. yalor, RM3 for a popiah with just that little bit of pork lard?? that's expensive lor.. most probably overrated and overpriced lah.. Malacca has been so commercialized already!!

      Delete
    3. no need to travel so far to Malacca.
