I was fully recharge after a good rest in the Hotel (ahem ahem ahem)... kakakakaka..
It was a bright sunny Sunday morning...
The day mission is to Jalan Jalan Cari Makan (walk around and look for food).....
Actually if you visit Malacca the thing that you must eat is their :-
1) Chicken Rice Ball ( I would suggest Chung Wah but please prepare some umbrella coz it will line up until outside of the shops)
2) Satay Celup......
3) Malacca Cendol
Ppl all queue up for the chicken rice (Chung Wah) and cendol (Jonker 88)
Money printing shopp
Well this time me and wife would like to try something difference..
we skip the Malacca top 2 food must eat...
Try something that you don't really often heard about it in Malacca
Which were actually quite popular among those Malacca ppl....
First Stop....
Lung Ann restaurant..... (near jonker Street)
As usual all Malacca resturant is crowded with people...
1) Shredded Duck meat noodles (taste like a normal dry noodles)
Has a strong taste of 5 spices.. It is average only...
2) Homemake Fish Balls.. very nice and it is very soft
No springy taste .. which is good that they did not add in the chemical to make it springy
3) Slice Fish meat Bihun... The fish meat is fresh and nice.
Not much ajinomoto in the soup...
It cost about RM7/bowl .. it is really expensive ..
taste is just average and very home style taste...
Of course I need to rejuvenate .. after a tiring day (ahem ahem ahem)....
I took 2 half boil eggs -- yummy
2nd Stop............
Kedai Satay Xiang Ji..
This shop is famous of their Pork Satay..
Their sauce is a bit difference from the Kajang Satay..
I heard that they add in the the pineapple in their sauce and it has less peanuts..
The Pork meat is very thin and the meat fully marinate and it is very nice..
Then I tried the intestine satay... but kinda disappointed...
It wasn't as good as the intestine satay that I eat in Ipoh...
It is just average rating for me.......
Price is reasonable - RM0.70/pc
Then 3rd Stop....
60 East & West Rendezvous..
This shop is famous of their Nyonya Bazhang .. and their cendol..
I don't like the cendol at all (ice is too rough and less gula Melaka)
I wanted to eat the Jonker 88 but the queue was terrible...
Then 4th stop.... Malacca BKT...
Restoran Kok Keong.....
Actually my wife was looking forward for this shop..
coz she wanted to try their famous yam rice...
Taste is average only....
Good thing.. they have a lot of sets combination..
(eg. lean meat + tauhu + intestines, fat meat + tauhu + intestines & etc etc)
5th Stop ......
Nadeje for their mille crepe....
The famous mille crepe..
We tried the original and rum & raisin
This is the first time we eat mille crepe...
Not bad ... I can't compare as this is our first time..
The girl inform that mango mille crepe is nice..
We enjoy it..
6th Stop.....
The most famous Malacca popiah at Jalan Bunga Raya
Things that I could say about this popiah are :-
PORK LARK & Crispy Fried Pork Fat
Price is so expensive RM3/pc
I could get a better popiah in Klang and it only cost RM1.80 if I am not mistaken..
Final 7th Stop.. at last.....
Restoran Sin Yit Sing @ Seremban...
1) Coconut Herbal Chicken = Very Good
2) Pork stomach stir fry with dried shrimp + cili padi = Very Good
3) Fried prawn mantis with salted egg = Good
4) Seremban Grill Crab = Good
Price is slightly expensive for Seremban standard ...

i must bookmark this post also, whenever i go to Malacca, this will become the Food GPS, haha~~
DeleteEh, I thought satay celup is not a miss and you went for normal satay? Tsk, tsk....
ReplyDeleteI see the cili sauce is something similar to our lok-lok sauce (Taiping satay celup) here.
Nowadays fish slice beehoon soup is getting expensive, not only in Malacca but in our humble town here too! It's selling at RM7, crazy hawkers and inflation!!
ReplyDeletePopiah is RM3??!! Overrated, I must say. Everyone is going to Malacca for holidays hence caused the prices to shoot up high.
DeleteJust like in my town here, when everybody from outstation comes back during CNY, they keep praising the food in Taiping is cheap and cheap. After they left, the hawkers decided to increase their price and here we are, stuck with pricey food :(
yalor, RM3 for a popiah with just that little bit of pork lard?? that's expensive lor.. most probably overrated and overpriced lah.. Malacca has been so commercialized already!!
Deleteno need to travel so far to Malacca.
Deleteif you like to eat popiah I bring you to Klang to eat their pork lark lap cheung popiah..
very nice....
hahhaa.. still Seremban food got VERY GOOD right
ReplyDeleteDefinetely....
DeleteI love Seremban food...
Crazy. Really eat n eat n eat. But I guess if I bring my mom to Malacca, she will do the same thing like you. Just don't let her see this post of yours, if not, sure she ask me bring her to all the eateries you went one.
ReplyDeletelol .. yes when we think back on it ..
Deleteit really crazy and we could really eat so much of food...
no wonder we got fat just a day..
So hungry now!! Must go for lunch already~
ReplyDeletehehehe.....
Deleteoh my, so many yummy foods here! which are making me crave for some! I love most the mille crepe! I think I could eat all of that haha, :-)
ReplyDeleteyes it is nice..
Deletethat is the first time I tried it..
It's hard to get RM1.80 popiah in Klang Valley these days. Although it's expensive, the one you mentioned in Melaka is pretty good especially it has crispy pork lard! Haha. Oh... I like the mille crepe too!
ReplyDeleteYup it is hard to get these few days.. Just hate the inflation..
DeleteI normally go to Klang to eat popiah..
It has lap cheong somemore + crispy pork lark .....
http://oongui.blogspot.com/2012/02/is-weekend.html
For chicken rice ball, I prefer the one at Hoe Kee (near to Chung Wah). You didn't try durian cendol from LAO QIAN ICE CAFE? (red building next to Chung Wah)...quite good too. Ahh...I miss the mille crepe. Heard so much about that pork satay, but have not try yet. Worth trying?
ReplyDeletehmm aiye I didn't try durian cendol....I like the original taste ...
Deletepork satay.. the meat is very thin slice and very well marinated..
If you ask me I will prefer the Ipoh pork satay...
but you can try it...... new experience mah...
yaler, the original is always the best.. now that those cendol add this add that, already not cendol but ABC already lor, i don't like lah, simple is good..
DeleteSo much food but too bad reviews are not too good for them.. I think next time we need to queue up to get the more yummylicious food.. :)
ReplyDeleteyup it is true.... but it is a new experience..
Deletebut the long queue it really make you lost the appetite...
when your tummy "grr" and furthermore it was so hot ....
wahhh, i remember eating the famous bunga raya pork lard popiah since i was 12 years old and living in malacca. i wonder if the stall owner is still the same person :D i haven't tried the famous mille crepe cake yet though. they opened after i left malacca after finishing my STPM :D
ReplyDeletewalao eh!! you really 勁!! can eat so much within a day!! hahaha, eat so much later sugar rush when you driving home lah..
ReplyDeletemay be going to Malacca, so i think i will also skip those "famous" things and try something different lah.. cos i really don't find the #1 nice, too wet already, i like dry one~~ :p
Deletelooks like the pork satay is nice woh.. how about the sauce, you mentioned they added in pineapple?? hmm, i think that would enhance the flavor because with pineapple the food won't feel greasy..
Deleteanother one must try is Nadeje lor, have read so much bloggers writing reviews of this cake shop.. and i personally like cakes, so this will be in my list since i've not been there before..
Deleteand the Seremban restaurant looks super delicious lor!! all my favorite lah, must go and try!! this post will be my Food-GPS already, but you must give the address lah woi, haha~~ :p
DeleteNadeje is nice.. and it also crowded with lots of people..
Deletestay in Explorer hotel .. and it is only walking distance to Nadeje ..
I think about 5 to 10 mins..

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, next time at least i have some idea what to eat beside the famous stalls which always crowded.
ReplyDeleteThe crabs looks fantastic and my kind of food too.
ReplyDeleteThe Bunga Raya Popiah is it infront of a Kings Emporium or something?
ReplyDeleteLast time we went there to tapau. had to queue up 45mins :(
Yes! Mille crepe is a must! I also haven't tried before cos no chance go Melaka yet :p
ReplyDeletewuah! mr simple! you're so hebat ah! you ate a lot! :) i had been to the last stop you mentioned in seremban. the crabs were nice. i was there...4 years ago. :P
