I must admit .... my engine already more than 30 years old..
cannot turn on the engine for 24 hours... sigh .. I think I will only watch it during the weekends..
Then the rest of the days just watch the highlights....
I slept until 10am on Sunday and my body was so tired......
My wife said that I am Billy Jean's Gf... (Lolli Jean) sendiri cari pasal....
My wife was reading some food blog and saw this.......
I am sure you all guess it right .. Yes it it YUT KEE.. with their legendary Siu Yuk..
My wife suggested to have our lunch at Yut Kee..
Last time we always go to KLCC for dating......
This is because I got the LRT monthly pass and I could use it for numerous of time..
When I just started to work I only rely on public transport (LRT & bus) and I do not have the money to buy a car.
Finally after 3 years of working I bought my first car.....
Moreover my GF also travel for free....
It is free ride for your spouse during the weekend if you have the LRT monthly pass..
(kekeke . I have not married yet .. well just to save money.... so she temporarily becomes Mrs Simple Person for the weekend)
So we always go to KLCC .. for movie, dinner, shopping..... (one stop solution)
then she suggest that after the lunch we go to KLCC .. (just to rekindle the memory)
Our jouney to Yut Ket by LRT....
We take the LRT station from Tmn Bahagia to Dang Wangi station..
Then just about 5 mins walk and we reached YK
The Legendary Yut Kee.....
Always crowded with ppl
but my waiting time is just only 10~15 mins ..
The boss's son become the crowd control ..
so he arrange the seats for all the customer..
GOOD ...
These were what we had :-
Butter Cake ... it was very rich with Butter (RM1.10)
YK - Siu Yuk with apple sauce (RM14 for 2 pcs)
Hainanese Chicken Chop (RM8.50)
Roti Babi (RM8.00)
Hey Simple Person .. what do you think about YK?
I would say that it wasn't anything to shout about....
(opps sorry for all those hardcore YK fans out there)..
1) Siu Yuk .. I prefer those that sell at wet market.. I prefer that the cut size to be bigger .
coz it always feel good when i put a big piece of Siu Yuk in my mouth..
2) As for Hainanese Chicken Chop .. I like the one at Cathay Restaurant in Ipoh..
I felt that they boil the fries before they fried it ... (maybe I am wrong)
The price is very cheap .. cheaper compare to Cathay restaurant...
3) Roti Babi .. My own version of Roti Babi is much better....kakaka...
Well maybe my expectation was too high... Basically we are satisfied
After a very FULL lunch we move on to KLCC..
which we feel so reluctant to go .. coz we were so full and sleepy ..
want to go back home and oink oink ...... but we still go to KLCC ...
the skin looks so cripsy! you're making me hungry now...
ReplyDeleteHahaha... never mind about the food lah.
ReplyDeleteYou got to jalan-jalan with your "laling" like old times. Right? ^^
yalah, your "laling" purposely requested to go to KLCC to reminisce the pak-tor days mah..
DeleteLast time, I used to pass by the place.
ReplyDeleteLast time, I was younger. LRT wasn't completed yet. Jalan Ampang was jammed so I always walked from my office in Jalan Tun Razak to my BF (now hubby) workplace at Jalan Bunus. Last time lah. Ask me to do it, sure I don't want! Haha

I go to KLCC for dating purpose as well :)I used to frequent Chinoz on the park, due to my lousy legs. Why not pamper Mrs Simple to a musical experience at Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra?
ReplyDeleteaiyoh, i didn't know that's Yut Kee lor.. heard of this restaurant a lot but then never been there before.. actually the critiques also half good half not good i heard..
ReplyDeletewah, that siew yoke so western style one?? the skin looks so crispy, and ok woh looks like the fat is very thin only.. i like woh.. but maybe not as good as the normal "very chinese" style siew yuk that goes with chili.. haha!!
ReplyDeletethe hainanese chop is ok woh RM8.00 not considered expensive lah.. i've had even more expensive one RM13 at brickfields leh, you heard of 生記 or not?? but that one really nice lah..

ReplyDeletei think OK lah, worth to go and try this.. but i worry it's always so packed with people.. maybe should go before 12pm hor??
ReplyDeleteYut Kee is very very famous! But until now I also never go yet LOL!
ReplyDeleteBut the siu yuk like very expensive! Nevertheless, will still go try when I have the chance.
Waow u n wifey very romantic la, purposely take LRT for lunch then go KLCC, u sure u do this wif ur wifey? Or it's wif ur secret girl fren? Coz I heard married guy wun do such thing ady :p
ReplyDeleteI guess there's always exception ya
wahhh... the YK sui yuk looks so ravishing!!
ReplyDeleteThats quite a bit spread of food both of you venture too. The butter cake and chicken chop looks tempting to me.
ReplyDeleteYut Kee is only a five-minute walk from my office! but i very malas to come here for lunch, cos it's always crowded, heheh. and i've never tried the siu yok here before ... i think it's only available on weekends =)
ReplyDeleteNot been here for a few months.Maybe I should do it this week. Hop onto the LRT and 2 stops plus some walk...and its Yut Kee for lunch. It will ahve to be the weekend if I want the roast pork though:(
ReplyDeleteNot so nice kah? Then better take me to the nicer places when I go over to KL. LRT? No, thank you...you drive. I old man, cannot walk so much, climb up and down some more. Hehehehehe!!!!
ReplyDeletefinally you jejak kaki in YK also ah... I will order the hainan mee when I eat there.. chicken chop and roti babi only had once for try.. and I don't go there when got so huge crowd coz the 'standard' drop sometimes... I go take my coffee there too sometimes...
ReplyDeleteHow nice of you dating at KLCC and rode on LRTs... hmmm...Saved time and money on petrol
ReplyDeleteI have heard of YK but never been there. How come got so many people but Simple Prince got nothing to shout??? Maybe I should try it for once....
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can try Hainanese Chicken Chop at the heritage Colliseum Restaurant along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. The waiters there still wear big buttoned old uniform like Old Lau Foo Tze! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe table cloths are like antique white sheets from WW1.
I've been to here once. I ordered all the above. I guess..its the popular ones kua. The siew yuk nice but expensive for 2 thin slice! I hardly try Hainanese Chicken Chop. So, I think this one is not bad. U knw any nice ones around Subang or Puchong area ma?
ReplyDeleteFrankly, it is the first time I seen this type of siew yuk... round-round one :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not very adventurous when come to food, I'm a picky eater.
But that chicken chop is not very expensive wor, as it costs about RM7 in my area here.
ReplyDeleteThis shop is not PLC lor... the 'C' is not counted already.
ReplyDeletei would like to try the butter bread... the rest looks oily but somehow yummy
ReplyDeletethe roasted pork looks good!

ReplyDeleteBeen hearing about their famous Roasted Pork for quite some time but the crowd is kinda off putting. Haha.
ReplyDeletewow, so many good foods, you are making me very hungry
ReplyDeleteI'm lazy to read comments so I don't know if someone already notices that brown portion in the butter cake looks like a sitting elf with a wand. lol
