I was there last week and we tried out the food station ay Isetan...
Walk around and survey all the stalls.. I heard most of the japs are shouting.....
"'IRASSHAIMASE" ... OSHHHH, OSHHHHHH......
then I just follow them n shout ..
YEAH YEAH YEAH ... they look at me .. n smile ....
Majority all chefs are Japs........ this is something unusual......
for sushi zanmai, sakae sushi, watami .. all staff are 100% local
So I guess the taste could be very authentic japs taste.....
first stop ........ Ichiro Sushi Bar...
Small area of sushi bar...
The shashimi salmon is really nice.. thick and fat...
Dragon roll....appearance kinda so so..
The rice is a bit messy.. not properly press..
I prefer the one from Sushi Zanmai...
Salmon & Avocado Roll....
same as the dragon roll the rice kinda messy..
and the avocado a bit hard ..
normally the avocado that I eat is kinda soft...
but the wasabi is not those grated type .. i like those that are fresh grated..
They are using Ipad to do the ordering..
save up the waitress cost ..
so they could afford more japs staff?
Kinda still hungry and wanted to eat some more......
2nd Stop...... MENYA MUSASHI.....
The menu .....
basically 3 type of ramen soup - shiro, kuro & aka...
Then come with small, medium and large size...
You need to order in the counter and the pay up...
there is a instruction guide teach you how to eat ramen..
basically u need to SLURPPPPPPPPP as loud as possible..
by the way we love the pepper .. red, black & white..
it is more fragnant than the normal black pepper..
Charshu Gohan..... lots of spring onion..
I love it and the char siu also nice...
I ordered the kuro Musashi Ramen...
the soup n the noodles are nice.. but the egg was slightly overcooked..
BTW there is a young "leng chai" jap in the kitchen that is in charge of cooking the noodles..
I see lots of girl look at him .. kekekeke.....
I ask my wife whether the guy leng chai or not.. she pause a while and look at him and then me..
She told me... nahhhh....I don't like young n inexperience kid .. she continue to eat the noodles ..
hmmm wat she really meant huh? O.O"
nice.. shall come back for other stalls....
My place just open a new shopping mall Setia city mall, too bad no Iseatan, look like I still need to go One U to shop for Japanese foods and ingredients.
ReplyDeleteu stay in shah alam?
DeleteI think the best place is still the jj..
so either i go to 1U or MV it is the same distance....
but I prefer 1U.. which the car park fees is cheaper..
Too many Japanese restaurants are around nowadays! But more choices for us! :D
ReplyDeletehope that it create more competition and bring down the price as well..
DeleteI wonder the PLC concept could adapt in the japs culture?
lol
The salmon looks really oily and fat! Lots of omega 3! I like!
ReplyDeleteyup .. when I deep on the soya sauce ..
Deletei can see lots of oil on the sauce.
good morning and IRASSHAIMASE!!!
ReplyDeleteおはようございます
Delete:)
i know Isetan opens in 1U but have not had time yet to go there.. errr, a lot of people or not??
ReplyDeletehmm crowd is ok..
Deletethey are promo their isetan card now .. become a member is RM15 and then they give your RM10 voucher..
then if u spend RM100 they will give you a cash voucher..
okie le .. I think ppl is spending less now..
i am a loyal fans of Isetan, and i always like to go to the one in KLCC.. especially after renovated, the supermarket is such a nice place to go~~
ReplyDeleteyup i agree.. but for me to travel to KLCC is a bit far ..
Deleten the car park fees is killing me .. unless I go by lrt..
i think the same concept in 1U too, they have all the different sections for customers to sit down and savor authentic japanese food..
ReplyDeleteyup .. more or less the same concept...
Deletebut then from your photo i really think the sushi is not good at all, this is considered failed for a good sushi standard.. how come Isetan allows such standard huh?? i always have high confident in them..
ReplyDeletei think those are not the profesional chefs..
DeleteI also wonder why.. but quailty of the food is still ok..
just only the appearance.. like that you say.. DAME (No Good)
n Japs has all the quality standard... 5 Y...Kaizen..
that bowl of Charshu Gohan got half bowl of spring onions in it!! gosh, i hate that, hahaha!! that means i can only eat half bowl of that~~
ReplyDeleteoh boy .. spring onions the best le..
Deleteu miss out a lot..
I like the yin sai + spring onions.. make the dish more fragrant...
hahaha, you should have taken a photo of that young handsome japanese chef and show us.. let us judge for you by what your wife meant mah~~ :p
ReplyDeletesuspence a bit mah..
Deletelet you all go and check him out..
I am playing the mind game with you all .. kekeke
let your imagination run freely....
You had 2 Japanese meals in a day? One is sushi, another ramen?
ReplyDeleteBut how come the "gate" for MENYA MUSASHI has Chinese writing? Initially I thought you went for a Chinese restaurant.
leng lui .. is call japanese kanji which is the same as chinese writing as well.. :)

Deletei think many of the female customers who go to menya musashi want to see the chef! i wonder how long he'll be staying in malaysia, and whether any malaysian woman will succeed in winning his heart :D
ReplyDeletemaybe he already got gf in japan?
DeleteI was in One U over the week for lunch and forgot this place. I am knocking myself on my head now.

Ipad cost like 1.4k?
slurp as loud as possible.... that ain't a proper table etiquette... but I guess that's how really a ramen should be eaten eh
ReplyDeletethat is the japanese way..
Deletethey say that u r impolite if u don't slurppp ..
so SLURRPPPPPPPPP .. lol
I am drooling over the raw salmon cuts and these are gorgeous and looks so fresh. Just like you wife, I can't be bothered with look at those younger than me, in fact the older the better for matured men are more polished and refined with plenty of money for a wonderful dinner together.
ReplyDeleteYup the salmon is definetely the best....
Deletelol.. maybe some girls have some other preference ..
For Japanese food, I love love love Sushi but I don't really fancy ramen, always think that they taste like instant noodles :P
ReplyDeleteyup i also feel the same....
Deletebut once a while eat ramen is OK....
The name, MENYA MUSASHI, if one does not look carefully, may appear something like MENYUSAHI. May be true to some extent, eh? After eating there, pocket empty...sangat MENYUSAHI! LOL!!!!
ReplyDeletehahaha .. u r good in names huh...
Deletetrue true true.... after pocket empty ... ia menyusahi hati ... LOL
Some exciting things happening over that side of town.
ReplyDeleteyup .. go n check it out ..
Deletebut i think is more or less the same as Isetan KLCC
