Living in FEAR......

Crime is happening everywhere, ..... whether it is in a big city or in small city....We often heard that someone had been kidnapped, someone die because of snatch thief, someone had broke into the house, & etc & etc....

Last week my next door neighbour's house was break in.
The burglar had stole a notebook, cash & jewellery....
It was a daylight break in .. and it is not like those old days where they break in at night when they know that there are no one at home.....
We had our guarded security in our neighbourhood.. but how much they can do?
This is the job for police who keeps us save..

I told my wife to keep all the jewelery in the bank and try to keep less cash as possible...
But she told me that we should keep at least some less expensive jewelery ..
she said that if a burglar breaks in.. they might be angry if they could not get anything .
They could harm us.....  I do agree with her opinion...
so meaning that we need to keep money and let the burglar to take?

Before move in to our house, the first thing that my wife told me is to have a house alarm system..
I think I had spent about RM2k for it and it worth every single cents..
I on it at night and day time when we go out for work .. just to give us a peace of mind....

It has a motion sensor in the living room & vibration sensor on the window/doors...
If the alarm is trigger it will call to my mobile phone...

I remembered the first time when I traveled to China.. I always scare about the crime over there..
Afraid that people might snatch my bag, pick pocket .. coz the poverty in China is very high..
Furthermore I have to visit to those rural areas in China...
However to my surprise it is very peaceful and very safe in China..
You could just leave my bag (pc) in the car. They will not dare to break in and steal your bag.
If you steal you will surely get caught by the Chinese police..
The punishment of stealing in China is to cut off your hand......
or you could be shot depend how serious is the crime...
Besides that I could see there are many Chinese police who always patrol (walking around) the city...
They looks very handsome and with a nice body .. (LOL)..

how I wish that our police is like that .. we could depend on them to protect us.....

So guys please be careful...
I have this simple concept... 财不露眼  (do not reveal your valuable stuff)
Have a Good Sunday...

  1. I agree with the second last sentence.

    Don't flaunt your wealth.

And be aware of your surroundings.

  4. the thieves like to steal shoes from our house lah.. because we usually lock the grills so maybe they were not able to break in, so they can only take the shoes.. still it's very scary lah!!

  5. hmmm, i don't agree with your wife lah.. there is just anything they can take.. so still it's a good idea to keep your valuables in banks and then hold as little cash as possible..

  6. a good alarm system is definitely a necessary investment lah.. let's say how efficient it can really be, but at least it can serve as a warning and let us have peace of mind lor..

  16. i guess we all need to take as many precautions as we can! i live in a sri petaling condo, and there were some break-ins and robberies a few years ago, so the management increased the number of guards and installed elevator cameras and tightened the entrance security...

  19. You should experience living in the Philippines, where everything just said are part of our day to day existence. Well, maybe not all, but in Metro Manila, it really sucks where even policemen are the one robbing you...

  21. Hello Simple Person! Congratulations for being the TOP in SK's Blogs! You deserve a pat!

Everyone is scared of crime especially when intruders break into your homes while you were asleep half naked. LOL I still hear the Curve incident till today. So scary!
It is wise idea to leave fake jewelry or Fake ROLEX watch at home! I also bought 2 big rattan sticks as weapons. It costs me RM10 for 2, just in case I need to defend myself. I should give rattan sticks as prizes to all top comments in my blog! Good idea?

  23. I kinda agree with your wife. Leave some cash or jewelry for the thieves otherwise they would be very angry and harm us. Read a lot of cases whereby they rob and rape. Scary~

    1. Well, robbed and raped (or murdered) apply to women. For men, robbed and killed~

  24. Er, not promoting any burglary, but I would prefer the burglars to come at any time as long as we are not at home.

At least they take whatever they want and leave everyone unharmed. I'll be frightened to bump into them, especially when I'm halfway awake and halfway to my dreamland.

  25. yes.. guess the 'crime' rate is getting higher, and the one who claims it's lower will be the one doing the job... we just got to be extra careful actually..

  28. Crime rates are scoring high everyday and I wonder why even with the guard services. I think you have had a good experience in China of not losing anything. My friends have had horrendous ones, like losing his pouch with passport, money, his bmw car key etx etc.

  32. You made the right decision of installing a security system when you moved in to your new house! First, you were new there and probably not familiar with the place, so you had to be cautious. Also, you don’t know what might happen at night or while you’re away, so having a security system can give you some sort of peace of mind because it’ll record everything that happened throughout the day. And yes, don’t just trust anybody or you might end up jeopardizing yours and your loved one’s safety.
