I bumped into my friend that day....
He was my x subordinate....
Just asking him how my previous company doing n hows work...
He told me that he was damn sien with d work...
Well I told him why not find another job....
He told me that he applied few jobs but no response.....
Hmmmm I just advise to him that don't worry...
I m sure that u will find a more happy n suitable job...
I reached home n then thought about his situation...
He is abt mid 30 n i think his current salary is abt 4-5k.....
D company pays a good bonus... Abt 6 mths...
His yearly salary could be RM60k + RM30k = RM90k
So if he looks for another job, I guess that he will b asking for RM7.5k
Hmmm 7.5k salary should b around senior manager/manager post.....
Current he is just a mid level position.....
How could he jump to that position.....
Well he is a family man n I think he will not look for another job which has lower than his current salary...
Hmmm mayb money to him is not a big deal leh...
Just wish him good luck.....
Money is important in the sense that he is family man too..

Now he has promote to manager level... N his qualification is just SPM cert...
Who is not 'sien' with his/her job? Everyone also 'sien' with their own job one, but no money lagi 'sien'.
ReplyDelete6 mths bonus!!! wow..that's alot. Guess when you are getting that amount of salary..and at the same time you'll be getting an equivalent work load or stress. I think both happiness and money are important. But of cos you must moderate or manage them well.

Money sometimes may not give the happiness the job and at the same time, being passionate in a professional you choose to be may not great salary in return. Thank god I am able to move on with life with the salary I earn. The moral is if we don't know how to budget our cost of living, how much we earn its never enough.

ReplyDeleteI still remember my first interview .. D company offer me RM2100 as a fresh engineer...
I told the general manager that I could not able to survive with that amount of money....
He scolded me n told me that his supervisor's basic salary is just only rm800 n has to take care 2-3 children...
His advise still fresh in my mind.. Tats why I always live in a simple life
good advise and that is one advise that i always keep in my mind too. its amazing how people can actually raise their kids (well) with just rm1000 a month.
