Hiking @ Gasing Hill

SP disappear .. no update in his blog for few days..
I am back now...
just that I thought of giving the "internet" a break during this Raya holiday...

I didn't go anywhere this week or balik kampung (Ipoh) for the Raya holiday..
I just stay & relax in my house....
as it is 7th month in chinese calendar and it is better to just stay at home...
Parents were here during this Raya break but this time they stay at my sis place..

Last Saturday me and my wife went to Gasing Hill for hiking...
It was our first experience .....and it turns out tougher from our expectation..
I always love outdoor adventure since I was a kid...
It was tough for my wife as she is not into those hiking adventure.. climbing up hills, jungle trekking..

When we went in, we heard a woman said " I saw a big snake"
Immediately my wife was panicked.. she afraid of snakes...

It was a steep mountain hiking and make sure you have enough of stamina to go for it..
A lot of mountain climbing ....
and it is good to bring a walking stick along..
It will be much easier when you go up steep hills... and walk through the jungle..

TM advise me to be careful that there are a lot of robbers who take your wallet and hand phone..
Hmm I think it is better to go in a big group....

    4. Yan,
Easy or not go hiking at Maxwell Hill? Thinking of doing it after my run on Sunday next month. ^^

    5. lina, you can choose to go short cut or tar road. Many hikers go the short cut way. Nice!

  4. Before I climbed Mount Kinabalu 2 years ago, I had to practice walking up Bukit Gasing many times weekly! That was besides walking up 22 floors of condo stairs. mount Kinabalu is a terror place to hike up with huge steps to make.

    1. How come you tak practise clim to Genting? Can gamble after the hike... kekeke

    2. Before TM reaches Genting, he's mauled by the tigers in the jungle. Or maybe bitten by cobras and strangled by pythons.

    3. LMAO!!! hahahahha......

  5. My wife is always scared of the wild monkeys who often attacked or chased hikers! So my wife brings a red umbrella to protect herself. When monkey sees an umbrella opened up suddenly like an alien, it will run up to the trees. They are hungry monkeys, no food and some hikers smell like bak kua!!

    1. hahaha, that's a good idea huh.. better still if there's some drawing of fierce and scary face on the umbrella.. sure scare those monkeys until they pee and poo on you!! :D

      Delete
    2. Good idea to bring umbrella. I scared of monkeys too. Taiping has lots of monkeys came out from Taiping zoo. I scared when seeing monkeys showing me the teeth.

      Delete
    3. HOT MAMA, if you don't have umbrella, just lift up your skirt at the monkey! He will die laughing and roll down the hill.

      Wakakakakaka....!!!

      Delete
    4. Hey! Where got people wearing skirt to go hiking one? Later not all monkeys die laughing, all old hikers die of cardiac arrest.

      Delete
    5. Yeah hot, where got people wear skirts to hike?

      Delete
    6. Got.... I saw before. Summore wear heels. Where? Japan lor... crazy people there... esp the girls. Wear boots in summer! @.@

      Delete
  6. Some aunties are kind, they brought food and left them near the monkeys to feed the baby monkeys. That is charity too. You can do it too.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. but sometimes it's not good feeding wild animals.. this will make them dependent on the human and they won't go and hunt for food themselves, eventually that opposes their gifted skill to survive in the wild..

      Delete
    2. but then SK... jungle in the middle of KL - still got much food for the monkeys kah? :(

      Delete
    3. Gadis Petai you are so pandai as usual. The jungles have been raped and the poor animals like monkeys and squirrels keep on multiply with no food in the jungle!!!! Nowadays you see squirrels hopping into homes so freely and welcomed!!! One monyet appear in the garden, the owner will throw stones!!!

      Delete
    4. Gadis Lina, I think we should plant betik and petai trees inside the jungle for monkeys and squirrels to eat. Then ask Yan and SP make pies and burgers to feed the old monkeys!

      Delete
    5. Does that old monkey you mentioned happened to wear a coat & one wears glasses? ;p

      Delete
  7. When I walked up Bukit Gasing with friends, they often got lost and panicked. Sometimes jungle spirits will confuse the hikers till they lost their sense of directions.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. that is why, never ever go hiking alone!! it's always better to go in a gang..

      Delete
    2. Go in groups also, if jungle spirit want to take you (maybe because you are too loud and uncouth) then you still can get lost too you know.

Must be wary of how you behave so as not to disturb other occupants of the jungle.

      Delete
    3. My good friend went to Kinabalu Park with his kids to walk. He scolded some vulgar words and spat onto the ground!!! Not knowing, the spirit followed him back to Kuching and strangled him for many nights until he turned GILA!!!!

      Delete
  8. The best time to hike at Gasing is after heavy rain! It will be so muddy and wet! You will fall down many times besides getting your shoes stucked in the mud. All the monkeys on the trees will laugh at you and scream Sohaiii SP!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I noticed you are very shy to post your own photos in any photos!! KNN why so shy?? I want to see you wear coat with Shindong hair to hike up!!! Next time I ever meet you, I will snap 100 photos of your leng chai face and show the hungry female wolves! Kakakakakakaka

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You've never met him personally kah, TM? Aiyor...why leh? Maybe SP's scared, later you rape him or what.... Better keep a safe distance. LOL!!!

      Delete
    2. Yeah STP you are so lucky to meet SP! Is he so fat and so short with small willy? Did he wear his wedding coat to meet you?

      Delete
    3. hahaha, i think it's the other way.. SP is scared that he will rape TM when they meet!! wakakakaka.. yalor, never even post his own leng chai photo to feed the hungry female hamsaperesses~~ :D

      Delete
    4. Fat kah? Short kah? Small willy kah? That's for us to know, TM...and for you to find out. Right, SP? Wink! Wink! Muahahahahaha!!!!

Hmmm...should have taken his photo..then I can blackmail him now - one sir ticket return...to KL!!!

      Delete
    5. Fat kah and short kah are both very negative remarks for a gentlemen.

May be SP is not fat, but well-build, he wears only M size shirt, see SK has to wear XL shirt. May be SP is not short, only taller than fui fui le!

    6. This is only way to force him to post his Shindong photos!!!!!! He got take photo but selfish to share with us! So we need to lure him!!!

    1. judging from the photo you have posted, errr, this track is not really that challenging woh, cos still a proper lane for you to walk..

    2. the one at FRIM, part of the track is climbing up the hill on the rocks, and because there's a waterfall nearby so the ground could be wet.. anyway, it is quite fun lah..

  19. hiking and walking have always been a healthy option, but true enough, it's unsafe to do all these in malaysia.

    1. Don't make a blanket and generalised comment like that lah... there are safe places and there are unsafe places.

All we need to do is to be careful and aware of our surroundings. Do it in groups to be safer.

      Delete
    2. True, very true what Lina says! Don't simply generalise... This is a recent happening in New Zealand among the many incidents that have happened over the years:

Surely we're not going to say that it's not safe to go climbing there!

  30. The one at the bottom left was definitely one of my favorite trails. It's not the trail leading to the tower, is it? It's glad to know that Gasing Hill has never changed even for one bit.

Yikes! I didn't even know that there were robbers lurking there. The cases I've heard were at Bukit Kiara instead. We've had scary encounters with snakes before. The last one was with a brown cobra walking with us.

  31. The conversation between SK, Yan and Twilight Man about the monkeys are so funny. Wakaka
