One of my favorite pastry is Egg Tart..
So far this is the best Egg Tart that I tasted before...
During my last trip back to Ipoh, my mum bought me this...
If you want to buy, you need to be early or order by phone (if it is during holiday)
The shop is near to Pasar Besar Ipoh....

they put up a small stall in Kedai Makan Weng Seng
The crust is crispy...
It has a very thin crust.. and very full filing..
Yummy .. it will be perfect with a cup of Ipoh White coffee...
oh my favourite.. next trip balik Ipoh must order this!
ReplyDeleteI like egg tarts too. Yummy when its serve hot. I like my egg tarts to have flaky crust. Have you tried egg tarts from CANTON-i?? Its very delicious! =)

ReplyDeleteI remembered eating them in the year 2003 when our Bond Girl's mum brought them to feed her temple friends in KL. I was also there and ate 5 pieces!!! Since then I asked her friend to buy me... Now I know who to pesan la!!!!! Please don't spit your ahem ahem in my tarts.

Deletei was in Lisbon many years ago (easter 2009) and tasted what they called "pastéis de nata", so nice!! here is the photo i've taken.. pastéis de nata..

DeleteAnay, it's just an arbitrary shop opposite my hotel, walked in, order and stood by the counter, ate that with a cup of coffee for breakfast.. heaven!! and then later in the afternoon, went to another shop, had this for tea.. so authentic!!

ReplyDeleteThe factory is in Wah Keong Park.. normally I go there to buy instead of driving to town... there is another famous one... try the Choy Kee or Quin Kee in Kampong Simee.. :P
