Then I read a review from Sean that there is a new Japanese restaurant at 1 U...
It is definitely a good news for porky lovers..
They serve Fried Crispy Pork.. which is something that I don't eat often...
I am not sure whether it is good or not..
so we just ordered 1 set combo and share with my wife..
Besides that everything is fried and we afraid that it might be very heaty..
We ordered the "Mameton" set... RM32.90
We could sample all the meats.. Pork Loin, Pork Fillet and Prawn
Those fried stuff were not oily..
if my wife eat fried food she will normally use a tissue to suck all the oil...
but this time she does not need to do that...
Beside that you could refill the chopped cabbage and the rice..
If you are a "rice tong" then you could ask for another bowl of rice...
I like their chopped cabbage and I put some sesame dressing in it..
Maybe all the staff are new and they had some problems on the order..
We waited for 20 minutes for the food..
So guys if your orders did not come please check with the waiter..
We were there early and sad to say that the multi grain rice was not ready yet.....
The miso soup was great... and there are so many ingredients (dashi, mushroom & etc) in it...
Do yo know what make the soup so nice ?
behold the secret ... Pork Fat ..
they put it to make the soup tastier and more fragrant..
My wife just scoop it out ..... :(
I always very fascinating about japanese gadjets..
I saw these sesame grinder/disposal..
It is for you to put some sesame on the rice and sauces...
Maybe it is new shop opening and they give all the customers a complementary jelly..
Looks promising ya? let me try it this weekend
ReplyDeleteFui Fui is so healthy in her eating habit. Thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteI love sesame seeds. How nice we can put on our food for free.
DeleteWhat flavour is that jelly? Looks like my Loh Han Guo jelly.
DeleteSunday, I fried mee for my family with some cabbage, sausages, fish balls, prawns and eggs. You rich la! SP always eat in luxury restaurant like this.
Deletewahhh, i didn't notice the pork fat in the soup. you and your wife are observant! :D
ReplyDeleteJapanese food porn! RM32.90, hmm... The price is kinda high, maybe because they allow top-up :)
ReplyDeleteAnd then they charge the free sesame seeds, etc in the bill in advance.
Deletetop up rice rugi la.
DeleteTop up meat better! LOL
Can refill the rice?? Wow this is a place for me!
ReplyDeleteI am a rice tong!! Hehehe :p
DeleteActually I prefer fish, less calories and fats.
ReplyDeletePork, beef or chicken would come second.
DeleteMe too!
Deleteoh gosh, Japanese food is my favourite lieh~ XD
ReplyDeleteRM32.90!!!! *faints* But never mind, you're loaded so when I go KL, you treat me to dinner there, can? Wink! Wink! LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe sesame grinder/disposal looks cool! hmmmm that free jelly is making me crave! I don't usually eat pork too but do indulge once in awhile and these yummy pork dishes at that resto just made me want to eat one at once! :)
ReplyDeletePork fat is so sinful but I can't hold myself from letting go. I am quite tempted with the pork and looks tempting. 1U is way out for us and the parking is mad.
ReplyDeletei have heard of this Tonkatsu, quite famous for their tempura and katsu.. i think i wanted to try this when i was in HK last June but then no time and didn't manage to go..
ReplyDeleteRM32.90 errr not cheap at all but then not too expensive also lah, considering you have unlimited refills of the cabbage and rice.. and you order one set to share with fui fui, so one person only RM16.45 still consider sesame for the rich SP lah..
Deletethe pork katsu looks so good lah.. i am also a pork lover, you too?? yeah, give me five!! and are you sure that is simply miso soup?? got so many ingredients inside, i thought it must be some other soup lah, i mean another name for it..
Deleteactually the photo you have taken looks exactly like what i have seen from the website.. i was doing research before i went to HK at www.openrice.com.. so i think this means they have very strict standard for all their outlets throughout the globe to have the same thing for every dish.. this is cool!!!
DeleteAiyah, refill of cheap cabbage and rice only. Top-up meat better! ;p
Deleteoh..in 1U? well, will try it when I next go there..
ReplyDeleteI've heard these are the best in town!
ReplyDeleteHeard many good reviews about this place. Unfortunately I hardly go 1U :-p
ReplyDeleteWe have Ma Maison restaurant in singapore too, nice restaurant.
ReplyDeleteMiso soup with pork fat, interesting ! Are your wife making some CNY baking? Do support my event if she would like to share . Thanks ya.
ReplyDeleteSure my wife will support
DeleteWill head in soon. love the fact that you said your wife did not need to dab oil off the fried stuff!
ReplyDeleteNew staffs are like that la. But give it a few more weeks then should be ok jor
ReplyDeletefood looks good wor....pricey or not ah?
Deletecan choose multi grain rice ah? usually other restaurat dont do that right?
Deletemmm...i love oink oink lard
DeleteI also wan to go here to try their tonkatsu... yummy yummy.
ReplyDeleteI only pernah try the one in Pavilion.. hehehe.. but yes, yummy!
ReplyDeleteI think I ever saw this Tonkatsu restaurant before but don't know where. Forgot liao. So good can refill chopped cabbage and rice one. First time I heard for a Japanese restaurant.
ReplyDeleteFree refill is a good thing even if it's just rice and cabbage because it would still add cost to the bill if one has to reorder them.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually glad that there are (new) restaurants that serve pork other than the authentic Chinese restaurants. There are not many places that serve a good pork chop.
The pork fillet macam not thoroughly cooked?
ReplyDeleteI bet this is in Isetan? No? XD
ReplyDeletetop up rice rugi la.
ReplyDeleteFunny Pictures
Top up meat better! LOL
